General Counsel, Chief Compliance Officer and Corporate Secretary
Les Parrette is general counsel, chief compliance officer and corporate secretary for Novelis Inc. He is responsible for leadership and oversight of the company's legal department, which supports the company in legal and business strategy, litigation and other legal proceedings, mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, the administration of operating contracts, international and domestic securities law and corporate governance and compliance.
Mr. Parrette joined Novelis from Aquila, Inc. of Kansas City, where he was senior vice president, general counsel and secretary for the former Fortune 50 electric and gas utility energy trader from 2000 to 2005. Prior to that, Parrette was Chairman and a senior partner at the law firm Blackwell Sanders Peper Martin, LLP, overseeing international mergers and acquisitions, privatizations and equity transactions.
