Novelis recycles 40 billion used beverage cans a year, and is committed to recycling even more aluminum from the household and commercial waste stream, as well as other sources of scrap or used aluminum. This commitment is not just an environmental mandate; it strikes to the very heart of our corporate philosophy.
Our Manufacturing Process
The manufacturing of aluminum is a complex process, from purchasing of raw material to distribution to the customer. Every step requires a dedicated, unwavering commitment to manufacturing excellence in order to assure the perfect product that our global customers expect from us.
The final product characteristics are a result of specific parameters such as the chemical composition of the alloy, thermal processing/annealing and the amount of work hardening present in the finished coil. Modifications to these critical factors will create the variety of alloys and tempers that are commercially available.
