Novelis Global Research & Technology Center, Kennesaw, Ga How can automakers create more fuel efficient cars and trucks without compromising performance? How do we increase the amount of recycled content in beverage cans? What are the cutting edge consumer products of the future that will rely on aluminum for their sustainability? These are the kind of big challenges that Novelis’ Global R&D team loves to tackle. And with Novelis’ brand new, world class Global Research & Technology Center, which opened in June 2012, we are working to solve even more complex problems.
About the Center The Novelis Global Research & Technology Center is a pristine, full-service research and technology laboratory located in Kennesaw, Georgia. The center offers unparalleled R&D capabilities to help Novelis meet the global long-term demand for aluminum used for the automotive, beverage can and specialties markets. To reach the company’s sustainability commitments, a key focus for our team is to help increase the amount of recycled metal content across all product lines while meeting performance requirements.
The center is a 160,000 sq. ft. facility containing world class office space, state-of-the-art lab equipment, and a fully functioning beverage can-making line that allows us to partner with our global can customers on creating advanced can designs and testing them in a simulated manufacturing environment.
With the new location in Kennesaw, we will enable our industry-leading researchers to interact more closely with our global commercial and manufacturing teams headquartered in Atlanta, and most importantly, our customers. The new center is the hub of Novelis’ global network of R&D activities, which includes seven other facilities located in the US, Canada, Germany, Luxembourg, Switzerland and Korea.
