  • Tadeu Nardocci, Senior Vice President and President, Novelis Europe and Roland Harings, Vice President Global Automotive and General Manager Automotive and Specialities, Novelis Europe Receive the BMW Supplier Innovation Award
    BMW Innovation Award
    In November 2011, Novelis was honored with BMW's Supplier Innovation Award. Novelis won the Lightweight Construction category in recognition of its development of a new type of multi-layer aluminum sheet that enables BMW to manufacture one-piece aluminum door structures, with integral window frames, to a design that is not achievable with conventional aluminum products. The new doors are 25 percent lighter than a similar steel design. More than 6,000 of these new doors are being produced daily by BMW for its latest 7 Series and 5 Series sedans as well as the 5 Series Gran Turismo.
  • Great Places to Work in Brazil
    In May 2011, employees of Novelis South America took part in a voluntary survey conducted by the Great Place to Work (GPTW) Institute. The final GPTW score, which is comprised of the Trust Index, Culture Audit, and additional questions about human resources practices, revealed that Novelis South America was in the top 20 percent of more than 900 Great Places to Work in Brazil.
  • OHLER® Heat Protection Mat
    Novelis wins Alufoil trophy for innovative product
    In March 2011, Novelis Packaging and Converting Products won an Alufoil trophy in the technical innovation category for its OHLER® Heat Protection Mat, which was developed as a solution to protect temperature-sensitive components in vehicles. Some of the uses for the mat include covering the outside of cables, fluid lines and engine components, especially ones close to the exhaust pipe and other hot automotive parts.
  • Novelis Yeongju Team Members Receive Award
    Novelis Wins Award for Work Life Balance in Korea
    In August 2011, Novelis’ Yeongju, Korea plant was recognized for its family friendly policies and focus on making the company a great place to work. The award, presented by Korea’s Ministry of Health and Welfare and the Center for the Make the World a Good Place for Families Campaign, recognized Novelis for its policies that promote child birth and value work and family balance.
