For over 30 years, the Rolled Products Nachterstedt facility in Germany has been integrating disabled persons into the plant's activities. By working under contract with Lebenshilfe, an institution for mentally handicapped people, our Nachterstedt plant employs approximately 20 disabled persons in various cleaning, packaging and transportation tasks.
These workers wear the same work attire as all other operators and are an invaluable part of the Novelis Nachterstedt team. Under the terms of the contract with Novelis, Lebenshilfe supervises and pays the workers and also provides the transportation to and from work.
These special employees benefit from meaningful employment and are proud to be part of the Novelis family.
