Senior Vice President and President, Novelis South America
Alexandre Almeida is senior vice president and president, Novelis South America. As president of Novelis South America, he leads all aspects of the company's business in the region.
Prior to this appointment in August 2008, Mr. Almeida had served as Chief Financial Officer of Novelis South America since January 2005, responsible for finance, strategy, information technology and legal functions. Formerly, he was Managing Director of Alcan Composites Brasil Ltda. from 2003 to 2005, and was previously Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer for Líder Taxi Aereo S.A.
Mr. Almeida holds a degree in Metallurgical Engineering and a Masters Degree in Computer Science from Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais, and also a postgraduate degree in Finance Administration from João Pinheiro Foundation.
